Author Abbas Djavadi: Born and raised in Tabriz, Iran. Studied in Austria, Turkey and Germany (Ph.D. from University of Cologne,) taught in Cologne, worked 1985-2019 at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) as journalist, analyst, language service director, project manager and regional director for Azeri, Tajik, Afghan, Iran and Central Asian services.
